About The Author
Rohini Rama
Rohini Rama, also known as Nini to her close friends and family, was born on June 30, 2001, on the beautiful island of Mauritius, a small yet vibrant country in the Indian Ocean. From a young age, Nini's life was shaped by both the challenges and triumphs that defined her teenage years. She endured struggles with bullying, experiences that left lasting marks on her spirit. Yet, it was during these darker times that her connection to animals—particularly dogs and cats—became a lifeline, offering her solace, understanding, and unconditional love.

As she entered adulthood, Nini’s life took a transformative turn. In 2022, she moved to Ontario, Canada, to pursue her dreams of higher education. It was there that she met Adi, the love of her life, and soon after, they married. The couple’s growing family expanded further in 2023 when they adopted two dogs, Lexie and Leo, and in 2024, welcomed Loki into their home. These three furry companions brought Nini a sense of peace and purpose, and she believes they helped heal wounds she once thought unhealable.
In 2023, Nini began writing her debut book, Lexie, Leo, and Loki – The Truth Unfolds, a deeply personal and inspiring story based on the adventures, trials, and joys of her life with her adopted dogs. The book is not only a celebration of the bond between humans and animals but also a testament to resilience, the healing power of love, and the lessons learned from overcoming adversity. Through this work, Nini shows the profound impact that animals—especially dogs—have had on her journey, helping her navigate both the darkest and most beautiful moments of her life.
In her spare time, Nini enjoys exploring the vast beauty of Canada, especially the majestic Canadian Rockies. Her love for nature is evident in her road trips, where she spends hours and sometimes days immersed in the mountains, discovering new gems along the way. For her, these moments of quiet reflection amidst the grandeur of the Rockies offer her the inspiration to write, create, and continue her journey of healing and growth.
Today, Nini calls Calgary, Alberta home, where she lives with Adi, their three dogs, and a growing sense of gratitude for the love, family, and experiences that continue to shape her story. Through her writing, Nini hopes to inspire others who have faced their own challenges and to remind them that sometimes, the greatest healing comes from the most unexpected sources.
